The procedure to place veneers requires at least two visits to your dentist. During the first appointment, your dentist will remove a small amount of enamel from the front and sides of the tooth or teeth that will receive the veneers. This step makes room for the veneers. Next, your dentist will choose a shade of veneer that will match your remaining teeth. Finally, your dentist will make a mold or impression of the prepared teeth, and send this mold to the laboratory that custom-makes your veneer.

It may take several days to receive your veneers. Your dentist may fit you with temporary veneers. When your veneers arrive, you will go back to your dentist. During this appointment, your dentist will test fit the new veneers to ensure a proper fit, shape, and color match. After making any final adjustments, your dentist will adhere the veneers to your teeth using a special bonding material and light.
